Marina Ester Castaldo is an Italian artist based in London, known for vivid, imaginary landscapes that sit somewhere between memory and feeling.
Growing up in southern Italy shaped everything — the bold light, the saturated colour, the way a landscape can hold an emotion without explaining it. That sensibility runs through every painting: rich, expressive tones built into simple, striking forms that feel immediate and deeply personal.
Working in acrylic and gouache on paper and canvas, Marina's process is entirely intuitive. Each painting begins with a single colour or mark and unfolds from there, guided by instinct rather than plan. The result is a body of work that feels both spontaneous and considered — dreamlike spaces that are imagined, yet somehow familiar.
Her work is collected internationally, valued for its emotional warmth, distinctive energy, and the quiet sense of joy it brings to the spaces it inhabits.
